The following is a list of careers that graduates from Iowa State University's Department of Sociology hold or have held:
Students coming to ISU Directly from High School:An application must be submitted, together with a $20 application fee and an official transcript from the student's High School. This transcript must include information on credits and grades, rank in class, and certification of graduation. Applicants must also have their scores from either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) sent directly to Iowa State from the testing agency (ACT is preferred). The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of international students whose first language is not English. Application for admission may be obtained by writing to: High School Preparation Required for Admission:Students who wish to enter Iowa State University directly from high school (or transfer from another college or university with less then 24 semester hours of graded credit) must meet the same level of academic performance described above and show evidence of the following high school preparation: English/language ArtsFour years, emphasizing writing, speaking, and reading, as well as an understanding and appreciation of literature. MathematicsThree years, including one year each of algebra, geometry, and advanced algebra. ScienceThree years, including one year each of courses from the following fields: biology, chemistry, and physics. Social StudiesTwo years, including one year of U.S. history and one semester of U.S. government. Additional Entrance Requirements for the College of Liberal Arts and SciencesIn addition to the high school preparation requirements described above, students applying to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences must have completed an additional year of social studies for a total of three years, plus two years of a single foreign language. Students who do not meet the high school course preparation requirements mentioned here, but who are otherwise well qualified, may be admitted after individual review of their applications. The process for removing any unmet high school course requirements is described in the General Catalog.
