Professor Hochstetler’s research interests include criminology and political economy. He is particularly interested in the relationship between the economy, crime and state-imposed punishment. A second area of interest is white-collar crime and white-collar criminal motivation. Hochstetler currently is studying decision-making by street-offenders with a focus on the influence of co-offenders on the decision to steal.
