Bridget K. Welch is a PhD student in the sociology program. Her areas of concentration are social psychology and inequality. She is specifically interested in self and identity, emotions, networks, racialization and gender. Her dissertation focuses on how Latinos/as in new destinations utilize networks and consumerism to varify their identities. Bridget has been married for six years to Bob Welch, a PhD student in agricultural history. She enjoys reading, horseback riding, and playing with her two cats.
